Privacy Policy
Summary
Web Accessibility Checker does not collect, transmit, or sell any data. Everything it does happens locally in your browser, and it makes no network requests.
What the extension accesses
When you press Scan page, the extension reads the DOM and computed styles of the page in the active tab and produces a result. It does this only for the tab you invoked it on, and only because you clicked.
The extension holds no site permissions by default. It asks for access to a domain only when you start a site scan, and only for that domain, so other pages of the same site can be tested.
What is stored, and where
Stored on your computer, in this Chrome profile only, and never synchronised:
- your settings (standard, level, theme, language, ignored rules, report details you typed)
- scan history: URL, page title, timestamp, score, issue counts, and the findings of each run
You can delete all of it at any time from Settings → Local storage → Clear history, or by removing the extension.
What is never sent anywhere
Page content, URLs, scan results, analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or any identifier for you, your machine, or the sites you test. Nothing leaves your browser.

Children
This is a tool for developers, designers, and site owners. It is not directed at children.
Changes
Any change to this policy ships with the extension update that introduces it, and the date above changes with it.
