Your files stay on your device
Add Signature to PDF processes all documents locally in your browser. The PDF you open and the signature you create are never uploaded to any server. The signed file is generated entirely on your device and downloaded directly to you.
What we store locally
The extension uses chrome.storage.local to temporarily hold your PDF while it is passed to the signing editor in a new tab. This data never leaves your browser and is deleted as soon as the editor receives it. Two small flags are also stored locally to control the one-time rating prompt.
Analytics
The signing editor uses Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool, to collect anonymous usage statistics. Umami is self-hosted on our own server — your data is not shared with any third-party analytics company.
Umami collects:
- Page views and navigation events within the signing workflow
- Funnel events such as “PDF opened”, “signature method chosen”, and “PDF saved” — without any file content or personal identifiers
- Technical context: browser type, operating system, device category, screen size, preferred language, and approximate country (derived from your IP address at the moment of the request; the IP itself is not stored)
Umami does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not build individual user profiles. All data is aggregated and anonymous.
What we do not collect
- The contents of your PDF or signature
- Your name, email address, or any other personal information
- Passwords or authentication credentials
- Your browsing history outside of this extension
Third parties
We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any third party. Analytics data is stored on our own infrastructure.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and the date above.
