Overview
Loop YouTube Video is a Chrome extension that helps users loop an entire YouTube video or a selected video segment.
Data stored locally by the extension
The extension stores loop settings locally on the user’s device using chrome.storage.local. This may include:
- YouTube video URL
- YouTube video title
- Loop start and end time
- Repeat count
- Playback speed setting
- Last updated timestamp
- Recent saved loop history
This data is used only to restore saved loop settings for YouTube videos and to show the user’s recent loop history inside the extension.
Analytics
The extension may use privacy-focused analytics, such as Umami, to understand basic extension usage and improve the product.
Analytics may include anonymous or aggregated events, such as:
- Extension popup opened
- Loop enabled or disabled
- Segment mode or whole video mode selected
- History screen opened
- General feature usage counts
Analytics are not used to identify individual users.
The extension does not send saved loop settings, YouTube video URLs, video titles, watched video content, start or end timestamps, or browsing history to analytics services.
Data sharing
Loop YouTube Video does not sell user data.
The extension does not share locally saved loop settings with third parties. If analytics is enabled, only anonymous or aggregated usage events may be sent to the analytics provider for product improvement.
Remote servers
Loop settings are stored locally in the user’s browser.
If analytics is enabled, anonymous usage events may be sent to an analytics service. No personal data or saved YouTube loop data is intentionally transmitted.
Data not collected
The extension does not collect:
- Personally identifiable information
- Health information
- Financial or payment information
- Authentication information
- Personal communications
- Precise location data
- Website content
- Keystroke logs
- Mouse position tracking
- Scroll tracking
User control
Users can remove saved loop history entries from the extension interface. Users can also remove all locally stored extension data by uninstalling the extension or clearing extension storage in Chrome.
Remote code
The extension does not use remote code. All JavaScript, CSS, images, and other extension assets are included in the extension package.
